
Held at the headquarters of CMC on Wednesday, 17/2/2010 a joint meeting between the commissioners of the commission, headed by Dr. Safa al-Din Rabiee President of the Council and a delegation representing the multinational forces and the U.S. embassy has been discussed a number of technical aspects concerning the organization of media and telecom sectors, which focused on the following points:
- Treeting problems relating to the impact of noise on the performance of mobile phone companies as they affect on the quality of corporate services and find necessary solutions to serve the public involved in these companies.
- Coordination between the Iraqi entities regarding the organization of frequencies and the work of various systems.
- Granting new licenses for the deployment and expansion of telecommunication services to a better service for citizens by creating a competitive environment between the companies that currently licensed and new companies.
- Support the Commission's efforts to regulate the telecommunication sector by the executive entities.
- Importance of developing the Commission's work in the telecommunications sector by organizing training for their employees which to ensure increasing experience and competence of the staff of the Commission.
And the role of the Commission and its activities in the coming period, the delegation of the commission asserts or its efforts in the elections' period, issuing and distributing a range of publications regarding on the monitoring and regulation of the electoral propaganda and a special guidance on non-incitement to violence, sectarianism and terrorism.
