A meeting between the CMC and the Independent High Legation of elections

A delegation from the CMC on Monday, 22/2/2010 visited the Independent High Legation for elections.
The delegation was headed by Dr. Ali Al-Khweldi the Vice-Chairman of the trustees council where he met the head of the council of Commissioners Dr. Faraj Al-Haidari and the head of the electoral adminstration Mrs. Hamdiya Al-Husseini, and they talked during the meeting  about the issues which related to the electoral process . As Dr. Khweldi pointed out the presence of some violations by some of the media which represented of not giving equal opportunities to all candidates, which were monitored by the CMC , confirming the most important tasks entrusted to the commission and work priorities, which is monitoring the work of media channels during the elections period.
From her side Mrs. Hamdiya Al-Husseini the chief of the electoral administration, explained that the functions of the Iraqi Media Network is providing equal opportunities to all candidates through the mass media according to the principle of the equality and fair to explain their electoral programs of their own and political entity and qualify the voters.
From his side , Vice-Chairman of the Trustees Council of the CMC stated his readiness to offer the required support of the monitoring committees and to receive complaints regarding to the electoral campaigns for the parties participating in elections, through coordination and cooperation between the two commission.
As the head of the Council of the Commissioners, Dr. Faraj Al-Haidari confirmed during the meeting , the necessity of putting the foundations and the general participating framework and coordinate the monitoring process of the mass media, and putting the future plans to make the monitoring of the mass media succeed.
It was also stressed that the media coverage in accordance with the regulations and international regulations promulgated by the CMC.
