A meeting between CMC and the Ministry of Environment

A meeting had been held at the Ministry of the Environment on Wednesday, 12/5/2010 between the Trustees Council of the Commission and the Ministry of Environment, the meeting included the Chairman of the Trustees Council, Dr. Safa Al-Din Rabe’a, and the Vice-Chairman of the Council Dr. Ali Nasser Alkhwaildy, and members of the Council, Dr. Sirkawt Namiq Abdullah and Eng. Ahmed Al-Omari, and Mrs. Nermin Othman, Minister of the Environment.

At the beginning of the meeting, the members of the Council spoke on the nature of the formation and structure of the Commission and the mechanism of its work and its independence, and its role in organizing the media and communications sector in Iraq, also discussed the issue of electromagnetic radiation transmitted by communications towers in Iraq, and the validity of this issue and the size and nature of these radiations, and in this regard the Commission explained to the Ministry of Environment its full readiness to cooperate with it to treat and resolve the matter, as gentlemen, the members of the Trustees Council put forward the project of the  formation of joint committees between them to measure and determine the level of electromagnetic radiation which broadcasted by these towers.

At the end of the meeting the Commission stressed the importance of making studies and documents related to this subject in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and published it for awareness and clarify the scientific healthy facts for citizens.
