CMC meets Mobile phone companies to treat the phenomenon of the illusion Messages 


held at the CMC’s headquarter on Sunday, 25/4/2010 a meeting with mobile phone companies operating in Iraq, the meeting included the Director of the administration of managing and organizing the spectrum and a number of professionals working in the department, with representatives from the mobile phone companies (Korek and Asiacell and Atheer), The attendance discussed the issue of the large number of advertising messages and services received by the users of the company on a daily basis, frequently in the late hours of the night, as the representatives of those companies showed that most of these incoming messages, which include services offerings, fake prizes was sent originally by illegal or unlicensed companies, and therefore its work represents a kind of e-penetration of information and resulted from the piracy which practiced by these companies.
The representatives of the mobile phone companies assert that their companies are working continuously to combat this phenomenon, through the follow-up and monitoring of the channels as the massages was sent through these, and also showed that the reduction of this phenomenon is through activation of Interconnection with the Ministry of Communications in the right way by forming a committee to follow up and preparing reports around it.
At the end of the meeting the attendance agreed to prepare a set of recommendations and proposals which included:

  1. Send a book to the Commission that contains all the details and the negotiations which performed during the meeting with the contravention, which monitored in advance by the companies as well as the names and locations of those specialized companies in the field of providing advertising services on the web site.
  2. Set a date for an urgent meeting includes both the mobile phone companies and the Ministry of Communications _ General Company for Communications and mail.
  3. The performance of the companies to set up a mechanism and formula program to do an awareness campaign on the subject and in coordination with the Commission before taking any procedures by them.
  4. Releasing a subject of study of the mobile phone companies about the possibility of activating code allows for participants who wish to receipt the messages that display the company's services or their paid-advertising from the others.
