Dr.Burhan Shawi the CEO of the Commission clarified that the meeting which held with the minister of Communications and the mobile phone companies aims to reach to a solution that satisfied all parties, especially in the field of the project of international enforceability gates and the readiness of the ministry to start in this project as the mobile phone companies pretended previously that they are not ready for that, in addition to the subject of signing a contract of the interconnection and the subject of the optical cable and improving the services of the mobile phone companies.
Dr. Shawi showed that an agreement had been performed on forming three first committees which will discussed on the implement of the international enforceability gates, and signing their contract, and it included technical, Financial and legal members, and a Committee to study the interconnection, and the third one to discuss the activation of the investment of the optical cable projects.

From his side, the minister of the Communications Farooq Abdul-Qadir confirmed that the agreement of the mobile phone companies on forming joint work teams from the ministry and those Companies under the supervision of the CMC for signing contracts of using the national enforceability gates which belongs to the Ministry of Communications.
He said that these work teams carried legal and technical stamp and there will be continued meetings in the next level between all the parties for the hurrying up of the implement of the contract, which considered important from the security standpoint for the city especially in the current condition, and providing huge financial resources for the Iraqi state which estimated with millions dollars that going in vain to the foreign companies that the mobile phone companies deals with it.
The minister pointed out that this comes during the meeting which held in the ministry’s building with the attendance of the CEO of the CMC Dr. Burhan Shawi and a number of officials of the ministry and the and its CEO as agent of the Zain Iq Company Wael Ghanayim and a number of the officials of the CMC and the Zain Iq company.
The minister showed “what we called for is clarifying a lot of the obstacle issues in the subject of the enforceability gates and confirming on the readiness of the ministry to start this project”, stating that there’s another subjects which they deal with it on the discussion’s table and had been agreed on it, as the signing of the interconnection between the telecommunications, mail, mobile phone companies and the investment of the projects of the optical cable.
